what the thunder said
What would happen if you gave the same poem to five different musicians and asked them to create their own musical response to the words and performance?
We sent an amazing poem by Holly Moberley to one of our musician friends to see what kind of musical world they could create around Holly's words. Then we sent it to another friend... and another...
A few weeks later, we met up to share our tracks and talk about the process we each went through in responding to the words and performance of What The Thunder Said.

when you know
This song was written for our pals on their wedding day: a glorious October celebration of love and friendship. Since that day, we have found that the song is as much about those two special people as it is about all of us and the joy we can find in the small things in life.
So grab a mug of something warm, set yourself up by a window with a view, and sing along with us about the memories of our golden hours and dreams of the future.

glory in the bone
echoes and edges
Glory In The Bone is an album of poetry and music collaboration between us and three poets, David Punter, Gillie Harries, and Tim Vosper. Through a combination of musical improvisation, atmospheric field recordings and soulful vocals, we transform the poems into sonic pictures of memories and moments.

same old story
Same Old Story is a straight-forward, straight-talking yet understated jazz tune all about walking away from situations that make you feel uncomfortable.

still here
Still Here was written as a love song, but the meaning of that love has evolved over time.
It is a love that has expanded to embody appreciation, admiration, friendship and warmth towards anyone and everyone: the love for your family, for a top pal, or for that nice cat you met the other day.
It is also a love that has grown into a heartfelt gratitude for everyone that has supported us so far in so many wonderful ways, big and small. Thanks for being still here!
